Went out to a gig last night, my first gig since Kimya Dawson last month and saw local Aussie acts Children Collide, Spod and The Wahas. Felt good to be in that kind of environment again. I didn’t realise how much I missed the thumping that shakes your whole body and the atmosphere of anticipation and all around smiles. Wish I could go to concerts all the time, if only it weren’t such an expensive hobby to undertake.
Uni starts in exactly 8 days. Kill me please. *Sad Face*

Still on holidays.
Something’ll change about this place in the near future. Or so I hope.
(Sorry Keng for being a bad hostee!)
Off to enjoy the rest of my holidays before it disappears.

Holidays! Nyahaha, I’m on holidays for 7 weeks now. *Pumps fist in air*
I watched Narnia 2; Prince Caspian last night with my friend Jeni. And we loved it. Our movie experience was ruined at the start though because 1) we waited 45 minutes for the movie to start and 2) when it did start, the screen was blank. Apparently they were having ‘technical difficulties’, but we got a free movie ticket to another movie of our choice, so that was good. (Small spoilers ahead!)
Caspian was… awesome. I loved it. It did the book justice in my opinion, the casting of Ben Barnes was perfect for Prince Caspian and they didn’t Hollywood-ise the budding romance between Susan and Caspian. All the Pevensies are so much older! And their acting has obviously improved since the first movie. Lucy’s so grown up now *sad face*. Cinematics display was wonderful and the special effects blended well, it wasn’t overly fake or out of this world. Somehow, though, it reminds me of Lord of the Rings. Moving trees and whatnot coming to the rescue at the last moment.
Well.. I’m off to enjoy my holidays some more. The girls are I are going to a movie marathon this Sunday and we’re probably watching Sex and the City then. Cheerio!

So. Helga reminded me that I actually have a blog I’ve been letting rot away. I’m sorry for my lack of updates to the few that actually read my blog.
Not much has happened recently other than I got a new Mac Book Pro a few weeks ago! It’s sexy and wonderful and it’s making my University life a little easier because when I’m rushing homework and whatnot, I can do it on the (1 hour) train ride to Uni. It’s fantastic!
I also got a new phone; a Samsung G600! There are too many features for my head to wrap around but one thing I’m quite impressed with is the 5 megapixel phone camera and the 1gig memory card. Really handy because I like snapping lots of memories on the go. Take a look:

I still have to update my WordPress to the latest version, but I don’t have FileZilla or any other FTP program on my Mac just yet. I’ll get a layout up for this blog up soon in my spare time. All for now I guess, cheerio!

I haven’t updated this in awhile.. not because I’ve already forgotten about it, but because there’s nothing exciting worth blogging about that has happened recently.
I’ve got a 2 week mid-semester break soon! I can’t wait for that - seriously… everyone needs a break some time or other and I don’t think I can last another 6 weeks of Uni without a well earned holiday.
I’m going for my P Licence test next Thursday and I’m jittery as hell. I’m still not confident enough to drive at a satisfactory rate, and my Learner’s licence expires on the 30th of April. Eek! Time to freak out. I better pass that test… I better! Fingers crossed, and wish me luck.
I’ve recently discovered the visual delight that is Suburban Glamour, a comic written and illustrated by the talent Jamie McKelvie. I’ve bought Issues 1, 2 and 3 and I’m still awaiting the release of Issue 4 which is coming out on the 10th of April! The illustrations are beautiful and the comic in itself really pulls me in - it’s something a teen can really relate to. Here are two previews from amie’s Flickr: One & Two. I encourage any of you out there who have a comic book store near you to check it out - the issues are quite cheap and I promise you won’t regret it!
All in all, before I bore you to tears, Ellie is out till next time!

Ellie is home from Melbourne!
Melbourne was rad… Road trip was LONG, shopping was expensive (my card got a workout all right), Clubs had bad taste in music, and rain dampened our spirits, but it turned out to be a wonderful trip. We gambled at Crowne Casino, clubbed at various joints, shopped all over the CBD, went and saw a gig at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and experienced life as Melbournians would for one glorious weekend. Melbourne Part II, here we come!
Here are some pics, hover over them to read the caption!

I feel tired, incredibly satisfied and yet not quite ready to face my everyday. So I’m off to re-read Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight to jump back in daydreams and relaxation.
Cheers!

I’m not sure if it’s the season or something, but Sydney’s having a lot of Protests lately. Just as I was skipping out of Uni to head home for the day, this student protest against HECS fees (Student loan repayment help) rising caught me.

I saw this one a week or two ago while I was at work (I work as a Room Service attendant and a Mini Bar restocker at Sofitel) - taken through the balcony bars of a hotel room - LOL. Sneaky.

Moving away from protests, I received my (very late) birthday package from the boyfriend today (LDR’s can really suck)! He sent me a cat stuffed toy (since my parents hate pets and how I’ve always wanted one), a box of Roses chocs among a lot of misc other stuff, but most surprisingly he sent me his cam-corder. Lord, he wants me to go film my daily life, friends, family and events and send the tape and cam-corder back to him. Sheesh. Kind of excited to do that though… I don’t really mind lugging the brick of a cam-corder around just to show him what life’s like in beautiful Sydney. Ironic considering what I just talked about right?
I’m becoming a Twitter Bug, but I refuse to let it ruin my new blog.
Also, I’m going to Melbourne this Easter Long Weekend! AHH! Time to shop my time away, club my heart out and relax till my bones feel like jelly. We’ll be taking a Road Trip down there (8 hour roadie, one way), so I plan on getting some mix tapes together that I’ll probably post here for all you music junkies who are excited on discovering new tastes.
Cheerio!
P.S. Apologies for the lack of visual, literary and otherwise meager content. I’ll get around to it.

So. This is the beginning. Welcome to the newly opened http://anixiel.net. As I said up there (points to the top right), please excuse the lack of a proper layout - I just love this template a lot at the moment. I’ll edit it to make it more “Ellie” later when I get time.
Firstly, I’d like to thank Keng for the generous offer to host me, myself and I. She rocks. Tackle hug her please. *Tacklehugshermyself*
Not much to say, so I’ll shut up. I’ll leave you now with a photo taken by me that is an example of Mistakeism in Typography in the urban environment. Click on the thumb for a closeup and revel in the gorgeous accidental beauty of the fine details.
